The scanner has two modes of operation; manual and automatic. With the automatic scan, simply insert the drive, and the scanner will scan and record the image and all the needed information. A friendly user interface allows you to verify the scan. With manual scanning, a hand scanner is used to scan the hard drive.

- Hands-free scanning of all hard drive barcodes
- User-friendly touch screen interface enables effortless control over all device features
- Automatic handling of read failures. If the scanner fails to read the disk label, the disk will be ejected from the eject port, and the disk will not be logged as received.
- Data log (User, cycle count, RFID ID, processing method, and levels) is stored in a USB storage device.
- Scanner physically receives and captures the disk, scans barcodes, and securely passes the disk to the crusher.
