Kiyomi Kishimoto

Mechanical Engineer

Kiyomi Kishimoto is a Mechanical Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical systems, precision manufacturing, and product design. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where her passion for practical innovation and problem-solving began to take shape.

Kiyomi’s early hands-on experience included designing a front power transfer unit for NJIT’s Baja SAE team and leading the development of a hygiene-focused toilet seat cleaner as part of her senior capstone project. These formative projects sparked her lasting interest in engineering solutions that combine functionality with public impact.

She later worked in the manufacturing sector for 2.5 years, eventually leading a CNC machining department specializing in precision components for the medical, aerospace, defense, and communication industries. There, she implemented Lean Manufacturing principles and collaborated closely with machinists, operators, and quality engineers to improve efficiency and maintain tight tolerances.

Fluent in Japanese, Spanish, and English, Kiyomi brings a multicultural perspective shaped by her Japanese and Peruvian heritage, which informs her values of discipline, resilience, and continuous growth.

Outside of work, she enjoys playing soccer, brewing tea, and exploring the meanings behind song lyrics—finding inspiration in music and reflection.
